On the 22nd of July 2011, 10 PJI members which includes Leo Leong Wai Yew, Leo Lim Chong Sheng, Leo Chew Chien Lung, Leo Jack Ng, Leo Tai Kian Min, Leo Tay Wen Yuin, Leo Jeyamalar, Leo Fion Tey, Leo Cheng Weng Siong and Leo Samantha Yap were present for the Installation Day of the Leo Club of Assunta, one of our sister club. The event was held in the school hall of SMK Assunta. The event was scheduled to begin at 2pm but officially started at about 2.30pm and we took the time in between to mingle around with other Leos.
The event proceeded with the usual ceremonies of formal presentation of certificates to the outgoing Leos, presentation of awards, Installation of new members and Induction of the new Board of Directors. The Installation of the new members was accompanied by the lighting of candles marking the beginning of their journey as Leos. The Induction of the new Board of Directors was accompanied by exchanging of gifts between the old and new Board of Directors and the passing of the flame of their candles from the old to the new Board of Directors.
There were also many entertaining performances. One very meaningful performance was by the new Board of Directors, who changed the lyrics of a song to give tribute to each and every one of their predecessors. After the performances, amusing handmade souvenirs were presented to each club representative. We then proceeded to their school canteen for refreshments and continued mingling with each other.
